i swear i’ll get better at updating on here.
i still need to upload some pictures soon, but that will also require me going through said photos to pick some to share.
we’ve been in knoxville for two months now and it’s increasingly mindblowing to us that we are dwelling in the mountains - something we’ve wanted for quite some time. we both love tennessee immensely and have talked numerous times about either ending up here or north carolina. if you’ve been here, you’d understand. the sights alone are awe-inspiring, but even the air is different and feels better. plus, it doesn’t hurt that there are way more cooler days here than florida.
i definitely miss the coast, but the mountains and crisp rivers are the only things i would choose over the coast, so i’m happy.
a highlight of our meanderings these days are the mulberry trees i discovered on a walk one day. my family has a mulberry tree in the corner of our backyard and i’ve always been obsessed with it. i get way too hyped on foraging in the first place, but having such a thing in my own yard?! bliss.
anyway, this is our very own version of that, especially since the birds and squirrels haven’t even tried to eat the berries, and i’m not sure any other humans are aware of the goldmine we have stumbled upon.
needless to say, we have a designated snack spot on our walks now.
that is the life.
more to update on later, but ciao for now!

Well, it’s been a doozy of a month as we’ve been moving, traveling, hosting, etc. BUT, we are finally back into our normal routine, which means we are still getting back into a rhythm.
We recently relocated from the Charleston area to Knoxville, Tennessee which is way better, min my opinion. We are undoubtedly mountain people, so we are loving the change.
I need to upload some photos soon, but that require me going through the pictures I’ve taken recently, so you must wait long enough for me to get my shit together :)
Other than getting back into the groove, F1 is in full swing, we are gunna get back to hiking (now that we have mountains again, thank god), and I can get creative in the kitchen again now that we aren’t traveling all over the place anymore. Once I get some recipes gathered or made up, I’ll start sharing those. Eventually!
Ok, that’s it for now, I just wanted to pop in to say hi, we’re alive and well, just chaotic per usual.
talk soon xx

my intention to keep this blog updated hasn’t gone as well as i wanted yet, but i did just send out our holiday cards along with january’s postcard and i need to get started on our february recap postcard, so i think i’m doing just fine. as long as i get february’s postcard sent out before the end of the month, i‘ll feel on top of things.
ok, time for an update-
we are still residing outside of charleston and have established a nice little routine for ourselves. we have our walking routes, our donut day, movie night, and the likes. we do special brekky on sundays, mostly as a way to get the weekend started on a nice note, but also to prep for going all out for our F1 viewing this season.
we’ve also been taking it a bit slower these past couple of weeks, so not as much adventuring, but rather running errands and making those fun. although, grocery shopping (at an optimal time with few people) is one of my favorite things, so that’s an easy thing to make fun.
at some point, i’ll share some recipes, cause i’ve been making some pretty excellent meals as of lately. definitely back into the creative cooking state of mind. i used random stuff in the fridge to make an enchilada casserole and it tasted amazing. would change a couple of things, for sure, but overall super good and very versatile to throw together. i highly recommend doing a kitchen cleanout type meal and grab stuff that needs to get used up or has been in the pantry for a while. it’s a fun challenge and tends to lead to some pretty tasty discoveries.
in other news, pax hit the 5 month milestone this month and that just seems absolutely wild. his personality has exploded, he’s absolutely showing preference now, and he’s at the point where he wants to be a part of the conversation. we are looking forward to see what the sixth month brings. also, what. how is he almost 6 months?!
alright, now for a picture dump to last you until next time.

Happy VDay, party pals!
We’ve been wanting to get something going to keep our family + friends a little more updated with things, especially now that we are back on the road, and what better way than to blog it.
It’s kind of funny taking up this space on the internet after both Joshua and I ditched social media last year. This feels more like snail mail (cause it’ll certainly take time to get back to you on here) but with a wider reach and less inundation of unnecessary influence.
It’s been nice to step away from all of the noise and start making some for ourselves. Since Pax joined, we’ve been way more cognizant of our own actions and habits and how they’ll eventually impact him. Needless to say, he’s been the best reason to stop doing stuff we don’t wanna do and start doing the stuff we’ve been holding back on.
Anyway, keeping this first family post short and sweet like February herself.
Until next time!
